INGREDIENTS:
beef 47% (tripe, meat, lung, heart, liver, cartilage), turkey 38% (meat, bone, cartilage), salmon 10% (salmon may contain bones), vegetables, fruits and oils 5% (broccoli, lettuce, apple, carrot, cold pressed sunflower oil, camelina seed oil (Camelina sativa))
Bone content in product: ~8%
This corresponds to approximately ~16% bone-in meat in the menu, since in reality only about half of bone-in meat is actual bone.
Did you know?
The calcium content in different bones can vary significantly: there's less in poultry bones, more in mammal bones.
This is why it's impossible to specify an exact ideal bone percentage in BARF meals. For homemade BARF meals, 15-25% is recommended as a general guideline, which may vary slightly depending on the calcium content of the bones. (Small variations of a few percent won't cause any problems, but long-term neither too much nor too little bone is ideal.)
